We have been retained by SABIC to recruit both a Specialist, Corporate Finance and Strategy and a Senior Specialist, Corporate Finance and Strategy.

The business is composed of four strategic business units; Petrochemicals, Specialties, Agri-Nutrients, and Metals. They support customers by identifying and developing opportunities in key markets such as construction, medical devices, packaging, agri-nutrients, electrical and electronics, transportation, and clean energy.

The Role

The objective of the role is to develop the financing strategy and optimal capital structure for SABIC and its individual entities, along with leading and managing all SABIC Corporate financing activities including bonds, commercial debt, sukuks and commercial paper.

Responsibilities include monitoring financial risk, developing and implementing risk mitigation policies for FX and Interest Rate risk, managing financial institution relationships, setting and monitoring monetary exposure limits to them.

This role will also act as a focal point for Credit Rating Agency interface and manage ratings reviews.

The Candidate

The successful candidate is likely to have a degree in a relevant subject area such as Economics, Accounting, Finance, and an MBA. A professional treasury qualification such as Certified Treasurer, CPA or AMCT would be a distinct advantage.

You will have at least 8 years’ Treasury / Finance experience, managing financing across multiple entities and with knowledge of financing concepts and techniques including project financing and possibly Islamic financing.

Your expertise will be analytical in its nature and knowledge of any of the following areas would be a distinct advantage;

  • accounting and Discounted Cash Flow analysis techniques
  • sensitivity analysis
  • probabilistic analysis and interpretation

You will also possess strong negotiation skills and be able to participate both constructively and professionally when working both internal and external counterparties.
