We are delighted to have been retained by Anglian Water Group in their search for a Deputy Treasurer. AWG embrace hybrid working where this position will work from home for 2 to 3 days, with the rest split between London and Huntingdon.

Reporting to the Group Treasurer, and a key member of the Treasury Leadership Team, the overall objective of this role is to lead the Middle Office team responsible on all reporting matters in respect of debt, derivatives, cash management, budgeting and forecasting, sustainable debt as well as deputising for the Group Treasurer
The incumbent will be tasked with managing and reporting on regulatory risk from a treasury risk management perspective and identifying solutions to optimise regulatory returns whilst also ensure continuous development of the treasury management system to make sure that the accounting of all treasury transactions is accurate and efficiently undertaken.
Centre of excellence for complex debt, investment and derivatives reporting
The delivery of treasury financial and management accounts, ensuring strong financial controls and appropriate accounting. This role has primary responsibility for the accounting policies of debt, investments and derivative transactions and managing the Treasury external audit as well as responsibility for all external Treasury Reporting such as the publication and listing of Debt Prospectus, covenant compliance and semi-annual investor Reports.
Managing and reporting on regulatory risk
Identifying treasury risk management solutions that optimise regulatory returns and minimise embedded debt costs. Ensure budgets and forecasts, and sources and uses of cash are prepared accurately for internal board reporting as well as for rating agencies and lenders.
Communicate and manage the relationship with rating agencies. Manage the Regulatory Price review process and annual APR returns from a treasury perspective.
Leading the development of Sustainable Finance
Identification of asset investments suitable for green bonds and manage the reporting of all sustainable debt in line with ICMA and market protocols.
Delivery of the cash forecasting process ensuring reliable and accurate cash forecasts are held and that close relationships are maintained with cash managers across the business.
Raising Finance and Stakeholder Management
Responsibility for management and raising of debt and managing relationships across lenders at this part of the capital structure and commercial business activities.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant and Treasurer with advanced technical skills in financial accounting and debt management with at least 5 plus years post qualification experience within a treasury function.
An innovative thinker who demonstrates excellent analytical and data interpretation abilities, as well as being able to assess every detail alongside maintaining strategic focus.
The candidate should be commercially minded and analytical and someone capable of communicating complex and technical outputs to differing stakeholders. They will show a deep interest in financial markets and will possess expertise in interpreting and implementing changes in accounting standards.
The successful individual will be an experienced leader and a strong team player with excellent relationship building and communication skills, as the role requires continuous interaction with internal departments and external partners. The candidate will have proven experience of coaching, developing, and leading a team.
