We have been retained by SABIC to recruit both a Senior Specialist, Corporate Finance and Strategy and a Specialist, Corporate Finance and Strategy.

The business is composed of four strategic business units; Petrochemicals, Specialties, Agri-Nutrients, and Metals. They support customers by identifying and developing opportunities in key markets such as construction, medical devices, packaging, agri-nutrients, electrical and electronics, transportation, and clean energy.

The Role

The objective of the role is to develop the financing strategy and optimal capital structure for SABIC and its individual entities, along with leading and managing all SABIC Corporate financing activities including

  • bonds, commercial debt, sukuks & commercial paper
  • project financing & leasing, inter-company loans and capital contributions

Responsibilities include monitoring financial risk, developing and implementing risk mitigation policies for FX and Interest Rate risk, managing financial institution relationships, setting, and monitoring monetary exposure limits to them.

This role will also act as a focal point for Credit Rating Agency interface and manage ratings reviews. It also ensures short and long-term funding availability for the group and its entities.

The role reports directly to the Director of COFS  as well as having direct reports; so being a team player is key!

The Candidate

The successful candidate is likely to have a degree in a relevant subject area such as Economics, Accounting, Finance, and an MBA.

A professional treasury qualification such as Certified Treasurer, CPA or AMCT would be a distinct advantage.

You are likely to have at least 12 years treasury experience in an international environment covering areas such as managing bank and capital markets financing, negotiating with third parties and a demonstrated record of deal / transaction closure.

Any exposure to petrochemicals or a similar commodity focussed businesses would be highly desirable, as is any experience of presenting complex financing proposals to Senior Management.

You will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor, manage and support less-experienced staff. In addition, you will possess strong inter-organizational and negotiation skills and will have the ability to lead basic negotiations and effectively participate in a team in complex transactions.
