gabe-hillsWhilst the UK market has temporarily slowed, the International market has gone crazy!

Mike recruited me to run our rapidly expanding International Treasury desk, I have had to learn quickly and work fast to meet demand from our clients.

The hot markets across Europe continue to be Switzerland, Belgium and Germany, with The Netherlands growing once again in popularity.

The driver for the interest in these destinations is not only the high quality of living but also the propensity to earn a lot of money. It is not uncommon for a Treasury Manager in Switzerland to earn 30% if not 40% more than an equivalent Treasury Manager in the UK.

That’s not to say that the door is open for everyone to simply up-sticks and move across shores. The expectations are high and the competition fierce. Only those at the very top of their game are considered.

You will need a proven background, a solid education with an MBA as standard, and you will need to speak multiple languages. What’s more, you will need the commitment and time to go through the process. Interviews can easily reach 3 or 4 stages, and take a minimum of 4 to 6 months to reach completion.

If you are interested in considering opportunities across Europe or are looking to hire a new member of staff to your treasury team, get in touch I would love to help.
