THIS IS NOT YOUR USUAL TREASURY ROLE.
Let me tell you straight away. If your background is in cash positioning, FX execution, or treasury management systems – this position will 100% NOT be the right fit for you.
That is the kind of work we usually recruit for, and those roles are our bread and butter. But this one is different…
This is a strategic advisory position, focused on complex financial transactions, capital structuring, and high-impact analysis for a private investment group and its principals. It requires someone who can operate behind the scenes at the highest level, advising senior stakeholders and supporting sophisticated investment decisions.
The Company
Our client is a privately held financial services firm based in New York. They provide strategic advisory support across investment, finance, and planning to a select group of clients, including senior executives, family offices, and private entities.
The business is intentionally low-profile, known for its discretion, depth, and long-term relationships. The environment is professional, intellectually rigorous, and focused on delivering high-value results through deep, trusted partnerships.
The Opportunity
The position supports a significant client relationship and sits within a Special Projects function that acts as an internal think tank for structured finance, cross-functional initiatives, and C-suite advisory work.
We are looking for someone who can step in, learn directly from the current leader of the team, and ultimately take ownership of critical workstreams that shape investment and financing strategy at the highest level.
The Role
Lead and support structured finance transactions, including securitizations, revolvers, and term loans
Collaborate across functions, including tax, legal, finance, and investment strategy
Build financial models spanning capital structures, macroeconomic scenarios, and long-term objectives
Liaise with banks, rating agencies, corporate advisors, and internal stakeholders
Contribute to business-critical projects such as M&A due diligence, restructuring, competitive analysis, and philanthropic mandates
Advise ultra-high-net-worth principals on both corporate and personal investment strategies
The Candidate
Bachelor’s degree required; CFA or MBA is a plus
7 to 10 years of experience in structured finance, corporate banking, treasury, or capital markets
Strong financial modelling and presentation skills
Able to operate comfortably at senior levels, combining commercial insight with discretion
A strategic thinker who is equally comfortable working through technical detail
Collaborative, coachable, and intellectually curious
