About this episode
Building a career in treasury is something that many of us put years and years of hard work into to get to the position of our dreams. However, sometimes you can get thrown in the deep end at a very young age. This episode of the podcast is special as I’m joined by Markus Kede. Markus began his treasury career incredibly young and became a Group Treasurer at just 26! He has now been in the industry for ten years and talks to me about his career journey, the challenges he has faced and advice for those looking for similar success.
Markus Kede is the Director of Group Treasury and Insurance at H. Lundbeck A/S based in Denmark. Lundbeck is a global pharmaceutical company that specializes in improving the quality of life of people living with brain diseases. Markus also worked as a Group Treasurer at Kwintet AB for five years. During his time there, Markus became the Group Treasurer and was tasked with maintaining normality whilst the company was under enormous financial pressure.
Markus has a degree in Science in Financial and Strategic Management as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He has had an incredibly varied and successful career at such a young age, with a huge amount of responsibility put on his shoulders. I am so excited for you all to hear Markus’ story, I hope that it may inspire your own careers in treasury.
