Creating a standout LinkedIn Profile

Step 8 Nurture Your Network

My next top tip is now focused on how to get the most out of your network.

You can work extremely hard to build your connections, but these are only valuable to you if you make something of them.

You need to focus on building a relationship with them.

And to do this, you need to engage with them regularly.

Here are some ideas on how you could do this:

Slide 30

Share Content

We’ve talked about this already but writing Posts and Articles really can make you stand out as a thought leader and offers you endless opportunities to engage with your network.

Likes and Comments

What’s more flattering than someone liking or commenting on the work you have done?

By taking the time to like or comment on other people’s posts it will show them you value their relationship and it is likely they will return the favour for you.

Update Your Profile

By updating your profile regularly, it will keep you visible to those in your network.

Remember if you are out of sight, you are out of mind!

Acknowledging Your Connection’s Change of Status

As your connections will receive a status update message when you change your profile, you will also receive updates.

This might be if your connection has a work anniversary or a birthday, perhaps a change of job title or new position.

You have the option of “liking” or “sending a message”.

I would suggest sending a message as we all know the importance of making it personal.
