Creating a standout LinkedIn Profile
Step 9 – Be a Groupie

I touched on Groups when I discussed ways to grow your connections, but Groups really are one of the most powerful networking features in LinkedIn.
Why?
Because by their very nature, they give you access to huge numbers of people who are already interested in the same topics as you.
Like-minded people sharing common skills and experiences.
BUT not only that – they are also an incredible source of information and knowledge.
So how many of you have joined Groups on LinkedIn?
This is the key point here really – there is no point joining a Group and sitting back.
You need to participate, I know LinkedIn doesn’t give them the attention they deserve but that doesn’t mean you need to do the same.
Start conversations. Like and Comment on other people’s posts.
Keep yourself visible.
To do this properly, it is important to be selective about which groups you join and how many.
LinkedIn allows you to join up to 100 Groups and obviously the more you join, the wider your network will be BUT if you don’t stay active and on top of the Groups you join, there’s not much point joining them in the first place.
So, do a search for some Groups now to get a bit familiar with how they work.
Maybe an initial general search for Treasury and see what comes up.
