I recently connected with Pat Culkin, Head of the US Association of Financial Professionals.

During our conversation, he asked me a simple question, but it caught me off guard.

He said, “So… are you a recruiter, Mike?”

It made me stop because, to myself, it was obvious.

I was about to reply, “Of course!”

But he followed by saying he was unsure because he’d seen me in:

The Treasury Career Corner Podcast

Treasury Career Corner LIVE events

The Treasury Salary Survey

Roundtables and community discussions

And on top of that… treasury recruitment!

So then I understood why he was asking.

And to anyone who’s wondered the same, yes. First and foremost, I’m a treasury recruiter.

But there’s a reason I do everything else…

Because, to me, there’s nothing worse than the classic recruiter approach I like to call “the Ghostbuster”.

They phone you up and say: “Hello, got any jobs?

“If you do, call me!”

That’s it.

No insight. No advice. No value.

Those recruiters are hardly what you’d call a consultant.

And when you consider that most treasury professionals change jobs every 3 to 5 years, if you only ever hear from a recruiter when they want a job brief, you should ask yourself…

What value have they actually added in the years between those conversations?

That’s why we’ve built what I call our ecosystem.

Everything we do is designed to support treasury professionals, not just fill jobs.

That includes:

The Treasury Career Corner Podcast

The Treasury Salary Survey

Treasury Career Corner LIVE events

And smaller, more focused roundtables where treasurers can speak openly with peers

All of these things exist for one reason: to help the treasury community.

Yes, I earn a living from recruitment, but I believe you earn that opportunity by adding value first.

So yes, I am a recruiter.

And if you’ve got a job, you certainly can call me (call any of the Ghostbusters out there at your own risk!).

But my goal has always been much bigger than that.

That’s why we’re always continuing to build on that ecosystem…

More events. More roundtables. And more ways for treasury professionals to learn from each other.

Because when the treasury community grows stronger, everyone wins.

Best regards,

Mike

Most people take part in our salary survey for only one reason.

They take it because they’re thinking:

“Am I underpaid?”

And fair enough. That’s exactly what it’s there for.

And with over 1,700+ treasury professionals in the dataset now, we can give a pretty accurate answer to that.

But once you get past the numbers…

That’s where it gets interesting.

Because to me, the real insight isn’t what people are paid, it’s how they feel about their roles, and treasury in general.

When you dig into the data, you start to see how the treasury profession is really looking right now.

So, I wanted to share a few examples and key takeaways directly from our latest salary survey results.

Hopefully, like me, you’ll find them pretty eye-opening.

Let’s start.

The Data

Across the entire survey – in the UK, USA, and Europe – roughly 1 in 4 treasury professionals are unhappy with their salary (and in Europe, that actually rises to over 1 in 3).

Now, you might think that’s the big issue, but it’s not.

Because when we look at WHY people are unhappy, salary isn’t actually the main driver.

The number one issue?

Lack of progression.

Not pay. Not bonus. Progression.

And that tells you a lot.

Then we look at something else…

Are people feeling valued in their treasury roles?

Again, about 1 in 5 treasury professionals across the board say they don’t feel valued by their manager.

That might seem like a small fraction, but to me, it’s a big number.

Because you can fix salary over time. But it’s much harder to fix how someone feels about their role day to day.

And when we look at what actually makes people happy in their roles, it’s not surprising:

A good boss

Good work-life balance

And varied, meaningful work

Simple things. But when those aren’t there, that’s when people start looking elsewhere.

A stalled market, not a weak one

If you just looked at hiring volumes, you might think the market has slowed.

It has, but not because demand has disappeared.

And when you combine that with what we’re seeing in the survey – people not progressing or feeling recognised – you start to understand why the market feels quieter.

I’ve talked about it before, but treasury professionals are being more selective, cautious, and more risk-aware.

Many were ready to move but have chosen to wait.

So this isn’t a weak market, it’s a delayed one.

The talent you don’t see

One of the biggest myths in treasury recruitment is that the best candidates are applying for jobs.

They’re not.

The strongest treasury professionals are busy delivering value, leading projects, and influencing decisions.

They’re also the ones who are most likely to feel:

“I’m doing well… but what’s next?”

And if they can’t answer that question internally, that’s when they start to move.

And again, that’s not because of salary. They just want the opportunity to progress.

The technical bar is rising

The fundamentals of treasury haven’t changed.

Cash, liquidity, FX, funding. They all still matter, of course.

But what companies expect from their corporate treasury team has shifted.

It’s no longer enough to produce the numbers.

You need to explain them. Challenge them. Use them to influence decisions.

There’s a growing expectation to partner across businesses, and I’m seeing a lot more roles blending treasury with FP&A, data, and systems, plus more visibility at senior levels.

But there’s one real differentiator…

The ability to translate that technical work into commercial impact.

AI: Is it really impacting, or just noise?

AI is already reshaping how treasury teams work.

It’s removing manual tasks. Improving efficiency. Freeing up time.

But it’s also creating noise…

I’m seeing applications that all sound the same. Job descriptions are asking for things hiring managers can’t properly assess. And generally, trust instantly drops whenever something feels overly AI-generated.

I think the reality is simple…

AI will enhance treasury roles, but it won’t replace judgment, relationships, or experience.

Those are still the things that matter most.

To close

I want to say a huge thank you to the 1,700+ treasury professionals who took part in our salary survey.

Your input gives us a true, unfiltered view of the market. And the more voices we have, the clearer that picture becomes.

The reason behind it all is to help YOU. So please use the salary survey to benchmark your pay.

Understand where you sit and know your value.

But don’t stop there…

Also look at the bigger picture:

Are you progressing?

Do you feel valued?

Are you doing work that actually challenges you?

Because that’s what really determines whether you stay or start looking.

Best regards,

Mike

P.S. Please invite your colleagues to join the survey. The more responses we have, the stronger and more valuable the insights for everyone in the profession.

And if you haven’t already filled it out yourself, what are you waiting for?!

Over the next 8 weeks, I’ll be travelling 21,000 miles to make sure of it.

Let me explain…

I had a different newsletter planned for today. But over Easter, I stopped and reflected…

In 4 days’ time, I will get on a plane to host my next Treasury Career Corner Podcast LIVE panel at TEXPO, in Dallas, Texas.

A week later, I’m back.

8 days after that, I’ll head to the West coast of the US.

In May it’s Dublin. Then Amsterdam. Then London.

That’s a lot of air miles. But it’s worth it.

When I was thinking about this it reminded me of a discussion I had with Jim, a senior treasury professional and a great friend to the business, who I caught up with when I was last speaking at the Windy City Summit Conference in Chicago.

Jim came up to me and said: “Mike, you seem to be everywhere at the moment!”

I said, “I’m not everywhere… I’m just where you are. I want to be here in the room with you.”

He smiled and said: “That makes sense. You do all this travel so you’re here with us. You’re not just talking the talk, you’re walking the walk.”

Early in my career, I used to think getting on planes all the time would be brilliant. Then you hit your third trip of the year… your third airline meal… and you realise it’s not quite as glamorous as you imagined.

So, what makes it worth it?

Being in the room with treasury professionals.

Here’s the reality…

I see people talking about how important it is to network with treasury professionals.

Recently, one of my competitors said exactly that.

But then in the next breath they told me they hadn’t met a single treasury professional face-to-face in the past 4 months.

That’s not networking. That’s talking about networking.

But credibility comes from showing up, not from sitting in your home office!

I did get asked recently whether I thought I was spreading myself too thin?

No, I replied. I’m backed by a great team.

My job is to be where you are.

Meeting you. Talking to you. Understanding what’s going on.

Right now, that means:

I’m working on roles in Texas, so I need to be in Texas.

I’ve just started recruiting a new role position in Atlanta. So, when I head to KYRIBA LIVE on the West Coast in 3 weeks’ time I will be meeting candidates who are based in Atlanta.

Plus, the treasury professionals who I’m meeting over the next 3 weeks are often open to relocating for the right role.

This is a link to the position I’m recruiting in Atlanta, GA – CLICK HERE

These aren’t LinkedIn conversations. They’re real conversations, face-to-face.

Here’s what the next 8 weeks looks like

TEXPO, Dallas, Texas: 750+ treasury professionals

KyribaLive, West Coast, USA: 900+ treasury and finance leaders

NeuGroup West Coast, USA: 100+ treasury professionals

Dublin: 70+

Amsterdam: 80+

London: 100+

That’s over 2,000 treasury professionals. In 8 weeks. In the room.

And yes, there’s a cost to that…

That’s over 21,000 miles travelled. Back and forth. Then back again.

But I’m happy to do it.

Because it let’s me see what’s happening in treasury. I hear what’s really going on, what’s keeping you up at night, where your team is stretched, the challenges you’re facing when hiring or looking for your next role.

And rather than just listen, it let’s me help and advise. I can connect you to opportunities, and to the people you need in your team.

Plus, that’s how I hear about roles as well. Because I’m there. In the conversation.

We talk about your treasury career, where you are now, what’s missing, and where you want to get to.

And I don’t only meet with candidates; if you’re someone who’s hiring, I can find out what challenges you’re seeing, who you’re really looking for, and what you need to do to attract the right talent.

I can find out ALL of this because I’m sitting with treasury professionals all day, every day, in the same room, having the conversations others aren’t part of.

So when people ask why I keep getting on planes – why I’m spending time in rooms with 50, 80, 100 treasury professionals at a time…

It’s simple.

This is where I do my best work. This is where I understand you.

And honestly, it’s my happy place.

Best regards,

Mike

P.S. If you’re coming to one of the upcoming events, come to my sessions. Come and find me. Let’s grab a coffee or a beer. Let’s have a proper chat about your treasury career and how I can help you or your team.

I’ve been hearing a new phrase a lot lately: “AI slop.”

It’s the term being used for content that’s entirely AI-created.

We’ve all seen it: synthetic voices, generated scripts, no human presence. Podcasts created in bulk. Articles written at scale. Images produced on demand.

One shocking example I’ve come across is a so-called “podcast factory,” reportedly producing 3,000 episodes a week, all with the aim of racking up hits rather than offering anything of value.

Maybe I should be worried. But to tell the truth, I’m not.

You see, I think people are already growing wise to it…

If you’re anything like me, as soon as you get a whiff of something being fully AI-generated, you switch off.

I’ll read a few lines or listen for a few seconds, and if I suspect there’s no real person behind it, I’m out.

That’s why our podcast works: it’s real.

Every episode is a conversation with an actual treasury professional.

Real careers, real challenges, and real stories from people who have lived it.

That’s something AI can never do.

Now, don’t get me wrong, AI has its uses…

I use it as an editing tool to clean up audio (mostly removing the “ums” and “ahs”). But it never creates the content.

If I ever did that, I know I’d instantly ruin all the hard work I’ve put in and lose all the trust I’ve built. Because people would know in an instant.

Simply put, you can’t fake experience. Especially not in treasury…

We’re in a profession built on nuance, responsibility and context. Careers don’t follow scripts. And the people doing the job don’t speak in generic language (which AI only speaks in).

So when I hear about “AI slop”, I don’t see a threat. I see a reminder.

If you want speed and scale, you can try and generate it. But if you want trust, you still need a person.

And that’s what we’ll keep doing:

Real conversations with real treasurers, every week.

Best regards,

Mike

Right, back to why I love treasury…

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, so I thought I’d write about something close to my heart.

Any guesses?

It’s treasury, of course!

I’ll start with a quick story…

A few years ago at a conference, BELLIN Treasury Management used to ask treasury professionals LIVE on camera:

“Why do you love treasury?”

Most answers were what you’d expect.

They love challenges, problem-solving, every day is different, etc, etc.

So, when they asked me, I said:

“I love treasury because it pays my mortgage.”

It got a good laugh (and I meant it!), but here’s what I’d add to that:

Treasury has given me a career and job security.

It’s my passion. And now, I have a front-row seat, just as many treasury folks do, seeing how businesses actually run.

All in all, it’s been very, very good to me.

And I have a genuine respect for the role and those that work in the treasury profession.

Since then, that “love affair” has only grown…

Through the Treasury Career Corner podcast alone, I’ve spoken to hundreds of treasurers across the world. I’ve heard about the pressure, the challenges, the responsibility, and the moments where decisions have shaped the future of a business.

I love talking about this stuff. And the more I listen, the more I understand just how important this profession is.

So, when people ask me what a treasurer actually does, I put it like this:

You’ve got your tax team focused on minimising your tax bills.

Your financial controller is accounting for all the finances.

And then you’ve got the treasurer, looking after today’s money and what comes next…

That could be acquisitions, new markets, funding strategies, risk, liquidity – everything on the road ahead.

So, when a company wants to move, it asks its treasurer what to do.

That’s why I find the role so powerful.

The teams are often small, but the responsibility is huge.

But that’s just what I think. There’s the other side of it…

Not everyone who works in treasury always loves it.

Just this week, I heard from a treasurer who said she felt demoralised and was questioning whether to “stick it out”. And I hear that often.

But I think in most cases, it’s not that people have fallen out of love with treasury. They’ve just fallen out of love with a particular role, a particular environment, or a situation where their skills and the job simply aren’t aligned anymore.

So, in the spirit of Valentine’s Day, here’s my honest message:

If you love Treasury – brilliant! I love that you do…

However, if you’ve gone a bit cold on it lately, that doesn’t mean the relationship is over. Sometimes it just means you’re in the wrong role.

So, if you want help finding a position that reminds you why you chose this profession in the first place, you know where I am.

Happy Valentine’s.

Best regards,

Mike

P.S. Why do you love treasury?

This comes up frequently, so I wanted to address it properly.

When I first started in recruitment, the very first retained role I recruited for was the Head of ALM for Barclays Bank, rapidly followed by the Head of ALM at NatWest.

These were senior, highly technical positions inside group risk. Managing the bank’s actual liquidity and capital – the stuff that keeps the institution strong – not client money or customer deposits.

So, I went headfirst into ALM, Monte Carlo simulations, VaR…

I met with some amazing Heads of Group Risk & ALM, learned some of the intricacies, and I genuinely loved that world.

But over time, something became very clear to me…

In banking treasury, you tend to become highly specialised…

Cash management. ALM. Liquidity. Funding, etc. It’s one lane taken very far.

The expertise is an inch-wide but a mile-deep.

Corporate treasury isn’t built like that.

In a corporate role, cash management is just one part of the job.

So is FX…

So are systems…

So is debt, risk, stakeholder management, team leadership and strategic planning.

It’s broader by design.

You’re expected to join the dots across multiple disciplines, not sit inside one.

That difference matters. Especially for candidates.

I often speak to people in banking who want to move into corporate treasury.

Now, some DO make the transition. But it’s rarely simple.

To step out of a specialist position and into a much broader corporate role, many have to move down in title, scope and sometimes salary (often significantly) to rebuild from a different base.

Keith Gaub – Vice President and Assistant Treasurer at Bristol-Myers Squibb – did that exact thing. He talked to me about his sacrifices (and eventual payoffs) of stepping down in title and compensation on a podcast last year, which you can listen to here.

And that’s why I’ve made a very deliberate choice:

We don’t recruit sales roles in banks

We don’t recruit group risk / ALM roles

We don’t recruit across dozens of banking functions.

We recruit corporate treasury. That’s it.

Trying to remain active in banking treasury recruitment never made sense for a specialist firm like ours. It’s better for our clients, candidates, and ourselves if we stick to our lane.

Because depth matters.

I love being a Corporate Treasury Recruitment specialist and I want to be a genuinely valuable treasury recruiter.

That’s also why I love corporate treasury…

I love talking to corporate treasurers about liquidity, debt, FX, risk, systems, careers, teams and progression.

I love hearing their stories on the podcast – over 400 episodes, hundreds of professionals, and 7+ years of conversations.

And I love helping businesses and treasury professionals find the right long-term fit.

So, if you’re in banking and considering a move, I’m happy to share the details of banking treasury recruiters who can help you depending upon where you are in the world.

But when it comes to recruitment, we are…

Corporate Treasury Recruitment Specialists.

Best regards,

Mike

P.S. Without the risk of sounding too confident… We’ve been successfully recruiting for corporate treasury roles for over 25 years, so if you’re looking for a new role in Corporate Treasury please reach out and connect!

It was my first ever event in Amsterdam, and I was very nervous…

When I launched Treasury Career Corner Live in the Netherlands, I had this picture in my head of me and the speakers sitting in a half-empty room, handing out drinks to each other.

But that didn’t happen.

Within 24 hours, 32 treasury professionals had registered.

A couple of days later we hit 50.

By the time I’d returned from the US Treasurers Conference in Boston, we’d completely filled our 70-person venue.

And then something I’ve never experienced before happened:

We went over capacity.

People kept signing up. People kept emailing. And on the night itself, the room was completely full as delegates brought other treasury colleagues too!

After the event, I asked several attendees why they’d come, and they all said the same thing in different ways:

“We don’t get events like this here.”

They told me there are plenty of bank events and plenty of tech events – but those gatherings are usually built around sponsors, sales pitches or product demos.

Useful in their own way but they are often sales-led rather than ours that is 100% geared towards helping them as treasury professionals develop their treasury careers.

This event was different.

It was a room of peers talking honestly about real roles, real challenges and real progression.

Because of that, word spread fast.

The next morning my inbox was full of messages from people who hadn’t even attended:

“I heard great things – when’s your next event? Can I attend?”

“My colleague came last night and said it was brilliant. Where do I sign up for the next one?”

I’ve run dozens of events over the years, but I’ve NEVER had that kind of response.

It taught me something important:

Treasury professionals will show up when the content is genuinely for them.

Not for a sponsor.

Not for a product.

Not for a sales pipeline.

But for their development and their careers.

So, to everyone in the Dutch treasury community who attended, supported, spread the word or sent someone my way – thank you. The response was incredible, and I’m immensely grateful.

And yes… there will definitely be a next one!

Best regards,

Mike

P.S. Where would you like to see the next Treasury Career Corner Live?

Before I ever wrote a newsletter, I hesitated.

Not because I didn’t have anything to say, but because I wasn’t sure how to say it.

I’d read so many industry updates over the years that felt like wading through wet cement…

Paragraphs of jargon. Sentences that wandered around the block before making a point (if they made one at all). Advice dressed up to sound clever rather than to be useful.

And I caught myself thinking:

“Is this how I’m meant to talk? Is this what ‘professional’ looks like?’’

Thankfully, no.

Treasury isn’t a place for waffle.

Treasurers are direct. CFOs are direct. And the work demands clarity.

So, I think the communication should match.

After all, talking more doesn’t make the advice better; it just makes it harder to use.

That’s why I made a decision early on…

I’m going to speak to you the same way I speak to clients and candidates: plainly, honestly, and without circling the runway before landing the point.

And that doesn’t mean I’m dumbing things down, rather I’m (hopefully) saying it clearly the first time.

Every treasurer I know is far too busy to decode a newsletter written like a 30-page dissertation.

So in my eyes, straight talking is a professional courtesy.

I’m sure I don’t always get it perfect. I’m human. I’ll meander occasionally. I’ll get passionate about a topic and go off on a tangent. But the intention is always the same:

Say something useful. Say it clearly. Then stop.

And so that’s my advice to you…

Whether it’s an email to a CFO, a board paper, or an interview answer… your goal shouldn’t be to impress, but to be understood.

Clarity beats cleverness every time.

One of the reasons these newsletters work is because I stopped trying to “sound professional” and started speaking like myself. Conversational. Practical. To the point. The same way I talk on the podcast and in meetings.

So, if you want polished essays, you’ll have to look elsewhere.

But if you want something you can actually use, that’s what I’m here for.

Best regards,

Mike

P.S. If there’s ever a topic you’d like me to cover, just let me know. I promise I won’t dress it up.

2025 was long and unpredictable.

Trade wars. Tariffs. Volatility. A stop start treasury recruitment market.

And as 2026 approaches, I’ve found myself reflecting on something that I kept seeing across LinkedIn and social media channels.

Did you win 2025?

Did you crush the year?

Do you really need to?

Do you need a reinvention plan to “crush” 2026?

I’m not convinced you do.

Every December, I hear the same lines from friends, clients and treasurers:

“I’ve got to finish strong.”

“I’ll rest at Christmas.”

Meanwhile, most of you are heading into year-end close, quarter-end reporting, audits, forecasts and the usual family chaos. On top of that, because you’re driven individuals, you pile even more pressure onto your own shoulders.

So here’s my question:

Why?

Somewhere along the way, the profession picked up this idea that everyone should run the same race on the same timeline.

January means resolutions.

March means pushing harder.

December means sprinting.

But this year reminded me that success has nothing to do with collapsing over an arbitrary December finish line.

It’s about running your own race. Steadily. Consistently. Sustainably.

On a personal level, I try to swim at least twice a week. Three if I can, but I don’t beat myself up if it’s two.

I cycle when the weather cooperates.

I aim to walk a couple of times a week. Not to Strava brag, but to stay healthy enough to enjoy time with my wife and kids. That’s the real win.

In business, it should be no different.

If we don’t hit every target by December 31st, does that mean the year was a failure?

Of course not.

If we’ve moved forwards, learned something and served the people who trust us, that’s a good year.

When I launched the Treasury Career Corner podcast, I genuinely hoped ten people might listen.

Now some episodes have passed a thousand downloads.

Picture a room with a thousand treasury professionals choosing to spend an hour listening to a conversation about careers, leadership and cash management.

That still amazes me.

And yet, I catch myself comparing.

Why did one episode outperform another?
Why aren’t we growing faster?

Then I have to remind myself of something important.

I host a niche show for a niche audience. Corporate treasury professionals.

I’m not competing with Joe Rogan. I’m here for my community. That’s the lane I run in. And that’s enough for me.

So here’s a final thought for 2025.

If you want to push hard through December, brilliant.

If you’d rather pause, reflect and start fresh in January, that’s just as valid.

What matters is not letting someone else’s calendar decide whether you’ve “won” the year.

Run your own race. Measure success by progress, not pace.

Now, just to be clear, when I talk about progress, I’m not saying goals do not matter.

They absolutely do.

What I do mean is having SMART goals. Not buzzwords. Just sensible goal setting.

SMART goals are:

Specific
Measurable
Achievable
Relevant
Time bound

Goals that give you direction, but do not punish you if everything is not neatly wrapped up by December 31st.

This hit home for me in 2025.

It was a tougher year than we expected. No point pretending otherwise. But with Katie and Carly’s help, we stabilised things and had a solid end to the year.

At that point, I could go into full push mode for 2026.

I could say, right, Q1 needs to make up for everything we thought 2025 would be. Let’s restart 2026 flat out!!!

Instead, we made a different decision.

We agreed to properly rest over Christmas and come into 2026 clear headed, energised and ready. Yes, we have targets to guide us. But not targets designed to beat us up.

That thinking links directly to something else I’ve reflected on this year.

When we started building what has now become the Treasury Career Corner LIVE Roadshow, I knew it would be a big investment of time and effort.

I also knew I could rely on Katie to take on a lot of the recruitment heavy lifting. That gave me the space to focus on something equally important.

Actually meeting people.

Not just sitting behind a phone asking, “Got any jobs?” but getting out, being in rooms, listening to treasury professionals, clients and candidates, and building real relationships.

So we invested. Time. Energy. Effort.

Not just into recruitment, but into a wider ecosystem.

When hiring slowed, we focused on market data through the Treasury Salary Survey.

We built the podcast to educate and coach treasury professionals on how to build successful careers. We ensured it earned CPD and CTP credits, so it genuinely supported development within the profession.

And over time, all of that led naturally to the Treasury Career Corner LIVE Roadshow.

None of it was quick. None of it was accidental.

For a long time, it was more about investment than measurement.

Now, finally, it’s producing the results we hoped it would.

That’s the point I’m making.

Sometimes progress looks slow on the surface. But underneath, the foundations are being built.

So if you’re reading this with a cup of coffee, or something stronger, take a breath.

You’ve earned it.

See you in 2026.

Best regards,

Mike

A countdown from 15 to 1

Before we get into the countdown, a quick headline stat that still makes me smile.

Over 1 million LinkedIn impressions in 2025 so far

1,013,301 to be precise!

Thank you to everyone who’s read, commented, shared, disagreed, nodded along quietly, or messaged me privately to say “that one hit home”.

Now, let’s get into the Top 15 newsletter posts of 2025, counted down from 15 to 1.

When You’re Sold a “Perfect” Treasury Role… and It Isn’t – 7,164 impressions

https://treasuryrecruitment.com/when-youre-sold-a-perfect-treasury-role-and-it-isnt/

A reminder that glossy job specs and reality do not always align. This one sparked a lot of quiet DMs from people who had been there.

Want a Reply from a Recruiter? Stop Treating Us Like Vending Machines – 7,214 impressions

https://treasuryrecruitment.com/want-a-reply-from-a-recruiter-stop-treating-us-like-vending-machines/

Direct, honest, and very much from lived experience. It clearly struck a nerve on both sides of the conversation.

You’re Visible… but for the Wrong Reasons – 7,683 impressions

https://treasuryrecruitment.com/youre-visible-but-for-the-wrong-reasons/

Visibility comes up a lot in treasury careers. This one focused on how it can backfire if you are not intentional.

It’s Getting Harder to Attract Treasurers. Here’s Why – 7,722 impressions

https://treasuryrecruitment.com/its-getting-harder-to-attract-treasurers-heres-why/

Written very much with hiring managers in mind. A reality check on why “we’ve always done it this way” no longer works.

Why Some Treasury Jobs Are “Top Secret” – 7,980 impressions

https://treasuryrecruitment.com/why-dont-clients-always-advertise-senior-treasury-roles/

Pulled back the curtain on confidential searches and why silence does not mean inactivity.

What I Learned from My Most Popular LinkedIn Post (and Why You Should Care) – 8,657 impressions

https://treasuryrecruitment.com/what-i-learned-from-my-most-popular-linkedin-post-and-why-you-should-care/

A bit meta, but useful. This one connected content performance back to real career behaviour.

UK vs US Treasury Salaries: Whose Grass Is Greener? – 9,017 impressions

https://treasuryrecruitment.com/uk-vs-us-treasury-salaries-whose-grass-is-greener/

Salary always gets attention, but this went beyond headline numbers into expectations and trade-offs.

A Visionary Treasurer or Just a Cash Manager? – 9,671 impressions

https://treasuryrecruitment.com/a-visionary-treasurer-or-just-a-cash-manager/

One of those posts where people saw themselves, sometimes uncomfortably so.

How to Look Like a $375k Treasurer – 9,762 impressions

https://treasuryrecruitment.com/how-to-look-like-a-375k-treasurer/

Not about bravado. About behaviours, mindset, and how senior treasurers actually show up.

372 CVs and Zero Results. What Went Wrong? – 10,015 impressions

https://treasuryrecruitment.com/372-cvs-and-zero-results-what-went-wrong/

A case study that resonated with both candidates and employers for very different reasons.

I Thought I’d Only Ever Do 10. Not This… – 11,356 impressions

https://treasuryrecruitment.com/i-thought-id-only-ever-do-10-not-this/

A more personal reflection. Clearly one that people connected with.

The Treasury Role That’s Going Extinct – 11,390 impressions

https://treasuryrecruitment.com/the-treasury-role-thats-going-extinct/

This sparked plenty of debate, especially around how treasury teams are evolving.

Are You Missing This? – 12,183 impressions

https://treasuryrecruitment.com/are-you-missing-this/

Short, punchy, and very deliberate. Sometimes less really is more.

Your LinkedIn Comments Can Make (or Break) You – 14,563 impressions

https://treasuryrecruitment.com/your-linkedin-comments-can-make-or-break-you/

One of the most shared posts this year. Because how you comment says more than most people realise.

Have You Seen the “Shopping List” Technique? – 16,665 impressions

https://treasuryrecruitment.com/have-you-seen-the-shopping-list-technique/

The top performer of 2025. Practical, easy to apply, and clearly useful in real treasury career conversations.

A proper thank you

None of this happens in isolation, and it definitely doesn’t happen by accident.

Deirdre Martin
Thank you for keeping me accountable to showing up every single week with the newsletter and the Friday videos, even when diary chaos, travel, or life tried to get in the way. Consistency sounds simple. It isn’t. You’ve been a huge part of that discipline.

Luke Flamson
Thank you for helping shape, refine, and challenge the ideas so they land clearly, practically, and without nonsense. The behind the scenes thinking, editing, and “have you thought about this angle?” makes a far bigger difference than most people realise.

Carly Larcombe-Birks
Thank you for the continued support across everything. From organisation to logistics to keeping the wheels turning when I’m head down in content or conversations, I genuinely wouldn’t be this far without you.

And finally, thank you to the wider treasury community.
The readers, listeners, commenters, sharers, and quiet observers who keep engaging and pushing the conversation forward. This content only works because it reflects real treasury careers, real challenges, and real experiences.
