Brendan has been Group Treasurer of Compass Group since 2018 where he has global responsibility for all aspects of corporate treasury and insurance.

Previously he has been Group Treasurer at AstraZeneca, Petrofac (based in the UAE) and OMV (based in Austria). Before this he spent 10 years at GSK, in treasury, and general finance roles.

Brendan qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC. He lives in the UK and is married with two young children.

Catherine Porter

Head of Treasury at Arup

Catherine is a seasoned finance and treasury leader with over two decades of experience spanning global corporates, not-for-profits, and professional services.

Currently Head of Treasury at Arup, she has previously held senior roles with Omnicom, CBRE, and Cancer Research UK.

Her expertise covers everything from FX, liquidity, and risk management to treasury transformation and governance. Catherine has led teams across multiple regions, managed treasury centres, and driven projects including cash pooling, system implementations, and M&A integrations.

Beyond her executive career, Catherine is an active non-executive contributor in the finance and treasury community. She has served as Chair of the Membership Advisory Panel at the Association of Corporate Treasurers (ACT), and as a member of both the Finance Committee of the Academy of Medical Sciences and the Cancer Research UK Pension Scheme Investment Committee.

Catherine is a Chartered Accountant (ACA) as well as a Fellow of the ACT (FCT).

Adam Richford

Group Treasurer at Smith+Nephew

Adam Richford is an accomplished treasury and corporate finance leader with over 25 years’ experience across multinational corporates, private equity, and financial services.

Currently Group Treasurer at Smith+Nephew, he has led complex funding strategies, M&A financing, and innovative green finance initiatives.

Previously at Renewi plc, he built the treasury and investor relations functions from the ground up, secured entirely green financing, and drove ESG communications.

Adam has also held senior roles at Gala Coral Group and GE Capital.

A Fellow of both the Association of Corporate Treasurers (FCT) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (FCA).

A passionate advocate for ESG, sustainability, and green finance, he has been recognised as ACT Student of the Year and Highly Commended in the ACT Deal of the Year Awards.
