Olivier Smekens

Global Head of Treasury at Breitling

Olivier Smekens is the Global Head of Treasury at Breitling, based in Luxembourg and Switzerland. He leads the group’s global treasury activities, bringing together liquidity management, financial risk, governance, and strategic treasury transformation within a complex international environment.

Prior to joining Breitling, Olivier held senior treasury leadership roles at Adient, where he served as Senior Treasury Manager / Director, and at Bosal, where he progressed through roles including Group Treasurer, IT Controller, and Internal Audit Manager. His early career was shaped at KPMG Belgium, where he spent nearly six years in Risk Consulting, building a strong foundation in governance, controls, and financial risk management.

Olivier holds a Master’s degree in Commercial Sciences (Tax & Accounting) from KU Leuven, complemented by an international exchange at Burgundy School of Business. He is trilingual in Dutch, French, and English, with working knowledge of German, and holds a PRINCE2 Project Management certification.

Summa Simmons

Associate Vice President, Treasury at Victoria’s Secret & Co.

Summa serves as the Associate Vice President of Treasury for Victoria’s Secret & Co. She is responsible for enterprise cash management, corporate finance, capital markets, and financial institution relationship management and likewise serves as Lead for Mosaic, VS&Co.’s African American and Black Associates Inclusion Resource Group.

A seasoned leader, Summa has decades of experience supporting the operational success and strategic initiatives for several major companies, including Cardinal Health, Inc., NiSource Inc., General Electric, and Morgan Stanley. She is a graduate of African American Leadership Academy (AALA) and a deeply engaged civic leader committed to mentorship, workplace diversity initiatives, and the advancement of the Columbus community. Summa is an active board member with The Center for Healthy Families and has likewise shared her time and talents with City Year Columbus, VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance), and Junior Achievement.

Summa, a native of New York, earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Hunter College and is a Certified Treasury Professional.

Jean-Philippe De Waele

Vice President & Assistant Treasurer at Johnson Controls

Jean-Philippe De Waele is Vice President & Assistant Treasurer at Johnson Controls, based in Luxembourg, where he supports the group’s global treasury activities across funding, financial risk management, and regional treasury operations. He brings nearly three decades of experience within a large multinational treasury environment.

 

Jean-Philippe has spent over 27 years at Johnson Controls, holding a series of progressively senior treasury leadership roles across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. His positions have included Vice President & Treasurer EMEA, Treasurer Europe & Africa, Treasury Director for Financial Risk Management, and Foreign Exchange Manager, giving him deep hands-on experience across FX, risk management, and regional treasury leadership.

Earlier in his career, Jean-Philippe worked in financial markets roles at Citi and ING, following his start in audit at PricewaterhouseCoopers. This blend of banking, audit, and long-term corporate treasury leadership has shaped a practical, commercially grounded approach to treasury and financial risk.

He holds a Master’s degree in Applied Economics and Finance from KU Leuven and is trilingual in French, Dutch, and English.
