The Opportunity

We’ve partnered with a Houston-based investment firm with a strong foothold in the global energy sector. With a supportive central treasury function in New York and ambitious plans for continued growth, this is a chance to step into a high-impact role combining hands-on execution with genuine strategic oversight.

The Role

This isn’t your standard treasury job. As Senior Treasury Manager, you’ll be the go-to treasury expert owning everything from day-to-day operations to capital strategy, liquidity oversight, and deal execution.

Reporting directly to the Group Treasurer, who’s based in NYC with a dotted line to the Houston-based CFO.

Expect full ownership, cross-functional collaboration, and a direct line to the investment decisions that shape the firm’s growth.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead daily treasury operations: payments, liquidity, forecasting, and funding

  • Support complex M&A transactions and global cash movements

  • Manage relationships with banking and investment partners across multiple jurisdictions

  • Collaborate with Finance, FP&A, Legal, and Investments teams to align treasury with business planning

  • Drive automation, process improvements, and compliance with covenants and regulatory requirements

Why is this role based in the office?

This is an in-office role because of the pace and complexity of the work.

You’ll support live deals, manage time-sensitive funding, and work directly with the CFO, investment team, legal, and finance. When priorities shift or decisions need to be made quickly, being in the room matters.

From coordinating multi-million-dollar transfers to navigating last-minute changes, face-to-face collaboration ensures things move smoothly and nothing gets lost in translation.

The Houston team, including leadership, is fully office-based. It’s a culture built on trust, quick decisions, and strong partnerships.

Treasury is a key partner to the investment team on cross-border transactions. You’ll be their go-to resource, trusted to manage funding flows, align timelines, and keep deals on track. It’s about building relationships early and playing a central role in every successful outcome.

The Candidate

A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required. MBA, CTP, or CFA is preferred.

You bring at least 8 years’ corporate treasury expertise, with a strong track record in cash management, forecasting, and supporting complex M&A activity. You know how to move money across borders, respond to shifting timelines, and keep deals on track.

You’re not just technically strong. You’re someone the team can rely on when the stakes are high.

Prior experience in oil and gas or energy is important for this role. It doesn’t need to be recent, but you’ll need to understand the fundamentals and have worked in or alongside the sector before.

You’ll be partnering with a high-performing investment team, so credibility, communication, and calm under pressure are essential. The right person builds trust quickly, works well with senior stakeholders, and gets things done without the drama.

Familiarity with Kyriba or another TMS platform is beneficial.

NOTE: There will be occasional travel to Dallas, Stamford CT, or NYC.
