Senior Treasury Risk Manager – International food, ingredients and retail group.

We are delighted to be exclusively supporting a diversified international food, ingredients and retail group in their search for a Senior Treasury Risk Manager to join their team.

This role will be responsible for protecting and creating value for the Group, both through the direct management of financial risks, and by advising and partnering with the individual businesses across the group. This role is instrumental in howthe company directly manages risk and delivers risk management support and direction to their businesses. The role will lead on business partnering a number of the groups markets, as well as leading on a number of financial market risk activities.

The Role

 Business Partnering

• Lead on providing treasury support on Treasury related activities to a selection of the portfolio of  businesses, to establish the role and Treasury as a key support and value add partner, with specific focus on risk management and working capital
• Provide an objective view on the existing governance structures in place within the businesses and lead on implementing best practice governance

Risk Management

• Set direction on how businesses should be analysing financial market risks and exposures, and support them on quantifying, analysis and reporting financial exposures, including the embedding the use of sensitivity and ‘Value at Risk’ modelling
• Lead on the aggregation of business risks to provide a consolidated company exposure, including undertaking correlation analysis to understand a net risk position.
• Identify, review and optimise existing hedging strategies within the individual businesses, covering currency, commodity and rates risk, focussing on the effectiveness of governance and economic outcomes
• Share best practice across the businesses, through direct business partnering and the use of risk forums

Execution & Compliance

• Lead on the establishment of net currency hedging via the Treasury centre
• Responsible for ISDAs and compliance with relevant treasury market risk regulation

Financial Markets Insight

• Accountable for the production and development of internal market reporting for currency, commodities, rates and credit risk, leveraging this to deliver insights to the group and its businesses, including identifying market opportunities to execute risk management

Working Capital

• Lead on the identification and implementation of working capital improvement initiatives across the businesses

Governance, Controls & Reporting

• Annual review of Treasury policies and its communication around the group
• Lead the production of the quarterly Risk Management Committee pack, period Treasury report, and the establishment of business unit periodic Treasury reporting
• Responsible for currency, rates & commodity reporting in Treasury period reporting pack, and reviewing of market risk in the financial statements
• Support the production of the annual audit committee paper

Technology

• Lead on identifying technology risk solutions that integrate into the Treasury Technology Eco-system, with a specific focus on risk management solutions

The Candidate

• Ideally qualified Associate/Member of Corporate Treasurers Association, or equivalent
• Finance experience, ideally obtained within large international businesses, either within a Group or Risk Function
• Good understanding of accounting standards relevant for Treasury
• Curious individual with a drive to understand what makes our businesses successful and enhance our commercial activities
• Strong commercial acumen
• Strong and adaptable interpersonal skills, including advanced influencing skills
• Resilient, with an expectation that Treasury excellence is delivered at all times
• Strong understanding of corporate risk management techniques and products
• Numerate and analytical individual
